Random ramblings

1st of all, Gustav stinks on ice. But the good news is we have cleared all of the junk off of our porches. YEAH!!!!
Church has been cancelled 4 tomorrow. How crazy is that? People R going nuts, the gas stations R out of gas, the grocery stores have empty shelves, people R nailing boards over their windows and leaving town even though we haven't even been evacuated yet...everything is closing down. And it looks beautiful outside!!! Sunshine and loveliness all day.... But we know what's coming.
Hurricanes are so lame.
We have been through some bad ones. Katrina was a mean old skuzz bucket, that's for sure.

My husband makes crazy faces. For someone who is so insanely gorgeous, he can look really goofy. I love it.

So when I started blogging, I meant 2 use this as a journal and just print it out every day, but I haven't really been doing that. I still keep a regular journal-
right now it's a small notebook I keep N my purse.
I even decorated it really cheesy with stickers I found out at the camp.
Oh, here it is 4 ya:

Can you actually read that page? I write about some of the dumbest junk. & I never write out words I can abbreviate. Like "to" is 2, "before" is B4, "in" is N, etc. etc. ad nauseum.......It's awesome. Usually I whip it out when I'm really bored, like sitting N a waiting room or something. I write 2 entertain myself. Every time I read a "chick lit"-style book, I think 2 myself "I could totally write a better novel than that"...so then I start writing & guess what? It's not that easy. I have started writing so many books it's ridiculous. They usually end up being these melodramatic love stories, but with no real character development. So then I get really embarrassed about how BAD the book is, so I tear it 2 SHREDS and chuck it. I do not want anyone 2 find out how bad my writing is. LOL. Am I the only person who has ever done this? Surely not.

I also tore up all of my old journals from my teen years because they were so OBNOXIOUS. I'll just confess right now- I was a major weirdo. Kinda freaky, really. I got really depressed when my BFF moved away to TX and I refused to smile for months. I wore all black like I was in mourning...that was my "black period" I guess. LOL---- I also started writing this really morbid poetry all the time. So U can kinda see why I tore all those journals 2 shreds. Who wants 2 read crap like "Life is a meaningless void of disappointment and sorrow. I have a Math exam tomorrow. (That rhymes, ha ha ) Someone please just shoot me...I like Grape Nuts."
EWWWWWW...see why that stuff had to be destroyed?

Here I am posin' 4 the cam. CHEESE BALL!!!

Julian & I took Annie 4 a walk. I love it out here in the boonies. See how there's no one around in this picture? What's really awesome is that at night U can C the sky so clearly. Every star is so bright. Josh's Dad got a telescope 4 us. I love looking at the moon.
OKay U C how random I am? I told U!!!! This is what my journal is like. And the funny part is sometimes I sound like a valley girl, & a lot of times I sound REALLY shallow, which is actually kind of hilarious. That's why I find it so entertaining 2 write.

So today my little sister Carrie and her husband Randy threw a BBQ ( and we watched the LSU game). It was fun. Afterwards we watched some videos they took after Hurricane Katrina. WHY??? Now I am just freaked out. (side note- the sky looks creepy all of the sudden, it's kind of ORANGE)
Katrina really tore the crud out of this town.
My little brother Cori was at the BBQ too.
I love him. He is the cutest guy.

OH, by the way I added a bunch of new music to my blog so check it out. I LOVE MUSIC. Last night Joshua and I stayed up WAY too late. we were up til 3:30am...sometimes we just do that. It's fun. We get all delirious and goofy, kind of emotional too. LOL So I started looking up Elvis music. That's another thing about my teen years- I was OBSESSED with Elvis.

I can not stress the word "OBSESSED" enough.
I used to pray and ask that Heavenly Father tell Elvis that I love him for me ...OKay? That is probably some kind of sin, right?
NOT NORMAL.
Anyhow, I had all of his movies, records, posters, I read tons of books about him, you name it.
I would dream about him, cry over him, write love stories about him (with me as the leading lady of course). I got caught up in the theory that he may have possibly faked his own death to escape the pressures of fame.
Yeah- so anyhow, I love his music. His voice is so beautiful. The love songs are all so sweet and fun.
If U have the time- listen to "Polk Salad Annie"
A lot of people don't know this but Elvis was FUNNY in an adorable way.
The best line in this song is "Polk salad Annie, Gator got your Granny."
That's just stinkin' funny.
Yes, I still love Elvis. But Josh became my OBSESSION the moment I laid eyes on him.
He kicks Elvis's butt BIG TIME.
Oh, here's a picture of my sister-in-law Robyn, me, and Carrie. carrie makes craptastic faces.

P.S. Was this post random enough 4 ya? LOL

old photos

So today I thought I'd scan some old pictures. I absolutely love this one. Boot camp graduation day. Joshua and I met on Jan. 23, 1995 and got married March 18, 1995....Yes, less than 2 months later!!! THEN he got baptized a month after that...and then left for boot camp the next day!!! So after a very short courtship and even shorter honeymoon time, we were separated for 8 whole weeks....It seemed like forever at the time.

Girl's Night

Last night I went out with my little sis Carrie, my sis-in-law Robyn, and my new friend (and next door neighbor) Caroline. We had a blast. We went to Outback for dinner, then saw "Mamma Mia" which was stinkin AWESOME (seriously I had a smile plastered to my face for the majority of that movie::: It was wonderful!!!) and then we went to Coldstone Creamery....YUMMETHA.(I got Mint Mint Chocolate Chocolate Chip)

Coming home from church

So, it is totally NOT breaking the Sabbath to stop at a Coke machine on the way home.

My husband is so CUTE!!!!
